We will be offering an April Break camp again this year!  As hard as it is to imagine a muddy and warm day with flowers starting to burst forth, it will be here before we know it!  The April break camp offers a consecutive 5 days in a row of Village School rhythms.  A special opportunity to really sink into the spring time season together, in the heart of the shifts and changes of the year.  This is a time when the changes are happening so fast, that they often feel palpable in the day to day.

Schedule: M-F || 4/21 - 4/25 || 9 - 3pm

Cost: $375 (includes a fresh farm lunch, cooked over fire!)

Silo Sessions: Mikahely

Wednesday, April 23rd @7pm
TICKETS: $18/15 advance ($20/17 day of show)

Mikahely is a self-taught world musician and singer/songwriter, who plays guitar, and Malagasy string instruments, the Valiha with 18 strings and the Marovany with 22 or more strings. His original songs are inspired by traditional Malagasy folk music and lullabies with ceremonial rhythms, transcending cultural boundaries and transporting listeners to another world.

He fell in love with music as a child and started playing and composing music at around age seven. Mikahely’s early exposures were mainly Malagasy folk and ceremonial music and traditional rhythms. He feels it was his destiny to become a musician and that his ancestors chose him to be the messenger to share Malagasy music with the world. Mikahely has worked over the years to hone his craft and most of his songs are in his native language, Malagsy. His soothing melodies and lyrics blend together to express his hopes for the healing of humanity and the planet.

Silo Sessions: Henry Jamison

Silo Sessions w/Henry Jamison
Wednesday, May 21, 7pm

If you take a look through his family tree, one thing becomes abundantly clear: Henry Jamison was born to write songs. Blending delicate acoustic guitar and banjo with programmed percussion loops and synthesizers, the Vermont songwriter grapples with the jarring dissonances of contemporary life in his music as he struggles to reconcile the clashes between our inner and outer selves, the natural world and our fabricated society.

Since his 2017 debut The Wilds, which was humbly produced with two friends at a sugarbush/apiary in his native Vermont, Jamison has branched out to become one of the most interesting collaborators of his generation. His 2019 follow up Gloria Duplex explored identity, class and masculinity over baroque textures and performances from Thomas Bartlett, Rob Moose (Phoebe Bridger, Bon Iver, Taylor Swift) and Shazhad Ismaily (Damien Rice, Nils Frahm, Marketa Irglová). In 2020 Jamison released Tourism, a five-song folk collection, featuring JOSEPH, Ed Droste, Fenne Lily, Darlingside and Lady Lamb.

Henry Jamison’s 2022 third LP The Years was produced by Doug Schadt (Maggie Rogers, Claud) plus long-standing collaborators Thomas Bartlett (Florence & The Machine, Sufjan Stevens) and Harris Paseltiner of Darlingside. Featured vocalist Maisie Peters and composer Nico Muhly (Adele, Bjork) round out the cast on what is Jamison’s most dynamic and diverse collection of songs to date.

Jamison’s uncanny ability to weave folk lyricism and instruments through a popular veneer has led to over 300M streams and widespread praise, especially from his peers. Adrianne Lenker describes, “Songs that sing me through mazes of my own sensuality and sadness and help me to feel less alone in the journey to understand myself.”

Silo Sessions: Springtide

Thursday, June 5th @7pm
TICKETS: $20/17 advance ($22/19 day of show)

Join us for joyful high-energy fiddle and dance music, heartfelt originals, rich vocal harmonies, and spacious improvisation.

Springtide is Willy Clemetson (fiddle), Elsie Gawler (cello), and Ethan Tischler (guitar), musicians, songwriters, and central figures in the Mid-Coast Maine fiddling scene. We combine a love of high energy traditional Celtic and Scandinavian fiddle music, heartfelt original tunes and songs, and spacious creative improvisation to produce our unique trio: Springtide. We aim to lift audiences with the music of the landscapes we come from, drawing inspiration from the tidal rhythms and creative energies of the coastal land we’re grateful to call home.

More information and tickets here.

Please email Chris Dorman at musicforsprouts@gmail.com for any questions related to the show.

P.S. Folks have asked if kids are welcome to attend. Absolutely! We want all to be able to enjoy the delightful songs and tunes from Srpringtide. Just know that it will be a sit down listening room type show but hopefully in a low stress kind of way. I mean, it's in a barn after all!

Barn Concert with Elisabeth Pixley-Fink

Barn Concert with Elisabeth Pixley-Fink

Join us for a special live music event in our historic Event Barn. Our first concert will feature Elisabeth Pixley-Fink with special guest Chris Dorman!

Monday, April 1 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.)
(Chris will open with a singer-songwriter set)

Elisabeth Pixley-Fink is a Michigan-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Her blend of distinctive folk and bratty garage rock hits you in the chest with guts, trust and hunger. Heartbreaking and heart-making. Heartskin, her upcoming full-length album, was recorded on tape in Detroit and Kalamazoo, Michigan, and mixed by Tim Carr (Perfume Genius, Hand Habits). Raised by a musicologist and a math professor in Kalamazoo, she also has musical ties to Portland, Oregon and Mexico City, and loves queer fashion and queer futurism.

“A campfire personality, that talent that you’re born with. See her perform and you can’t turn away; you just stay there observing the fire, hypnotized.” — Luis Alberto González Arenas
