Scrag Mountain Music Presents - Aizuri Quartet: Deeply Known

  • Bread & Butter Farm 200 Leduc Farm Road Shelburne, VT, 05482 United States (map)

We at the farm are delighted to announce another musical partnership for this fall and beyond! We are ever so lucky to have been contacted by Scrag Mountain Music: an organization dedicated to bringing dynamic, vibrant classical music to communities around Vermont.

Since 2010, Scrag Mountain Music has connected Vermont communities to classical music in powerful ways. Scrag offers interactive performances,  open rehearsals, and meaningful teaching artist residencies to those in Central Vermont all while engaging top-tier chamber musicians from around the country and creating a retreat atmosphere for them to rejuvenate their artistry. Our concert motto is "Come as you are. Pay what you can."

While Scrag Mountain Music has been bringing music around the state for a while now, the first show of theirs that will be gracing the farm is “Aizuri Quartet: Deeply Known”

The beloved Aizuri Quartet returns to Scrag Mountain Music after a triumphant season as Quartet-in-Residence at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to present the World Premiere of Scrag co-Artistic Director Evan Premo’s String Quartet No.1 Deeply Known, written specially for the quartet. The program also includes Gabriella Smith’s Carrot Revolution, Komitas’ Armenian Folk Songs, and Arnold Schoenberg’s String Quartet No. 2 joined by Scrag co-Artistic Director and soprano Mary Bonhag.

Concerts are “Pay what you can” with at-will donations collected at intermission. Space is limited, so be sure to secure your spot at the link below!
